• mrs. lauri evans - head of curriculum

    Mrs. Evans is one of the founders of Oakwell Academy and serves as an Administrator on campus.  She has spent the last six years researching classical education and curriculum alongside the professionals at UMSI and its network of classical UMS schools throughout the country.  She also has plenty of practical experience through her time homeschooling her own children.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Master in Accounting from Texas A&M University.

    Mrs. Hardy is one of the founders of Oakwell Academy and serves as an Administrator on campus.  She has a Bachelor in Liberal Arts from Baylor University and has helped start two non-profit organizations in the last eight years. She enjoys helping children find Jesus in all areas of life.

  • mrs. danielle adair - financial manager

    Mrs. Adair graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has many years of experience with administrative roles. She recently worked as the Executive Administrator for four years at a local non-profit organization. Her attention to detail and passion for things being done efficiently and thoroughly making her a great fit for Oakwell.

  • Mr. andrew storms - teacher

    Mr. Storms is an experienced classroom teacher of 15 years who began working in the field of education upon graduating from Texas State University. His past teaching and coaching assignments in the Houston area and College Station have effectively trained him to connect with students both inside and outside the classroom.

  • mrs. jen verdugo - teacher

    Mrs. Verdugo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education from Kansas Wesleyan University and a Master of Science degree in Health and Nutrition from Emporia State University. She has over 15 years of teaching experience that expands from the collegiate level all the way down to pre-school.


    Miss Harris has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She has more than 7 years of experience in children's ministry and is passionate about each child's spiritual and academic development.


    Mrs. Roberts has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida College in Tampa, Florida, She also hold a TESOL certification, allowing her to work with students who speak other languages. She has a passion for teaching students the foundations of literacy in both reading and writing. She has taught for several years and has experience in both upper and lower elementary.


    Miss Donaldson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Dance from Texas A&M University. She is currently pursuing her EC-6 Generalist certification and has many years of experience working with young children.

  • Mrs. Abigail Matlock - LANGUAGE TEACHER

    Mrs. Matlock has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship and Strategy from Kennesaw State University. She is a world traveller who spent most of her youth in places like Uzbekistan, Turkey, Germany, France, Singapore and Cyprus. She has lived among peoples all around the world, loved them and offered them hope through Jesus Christ. Her love for the young is evidenced through her own journey as a mother, friend and as a teacher of foreign languages and cultures, opening the minds of students to the width and the depth of the creativity of God as he designed all of us uniquely to demonstrate his goodness.


    Miss Patterson holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Professional Services with minors in Human Resource Development and Sociology from Texas A&M University. She has years of experience working with children and knows the high value of deeply investing in children's lives.
